Practice Manager Platform
A practice-management SaaS for therapy clinics, with web, mobile and background processing, handling protected health information.
The problem
Therapy clinics juggle scheduling, clinical notes, plans of care, billing and faxes across disconnected tools, and the paperwork is both time-consuming and easy to get wrong. They needed one system that clinicians, office staff and patients could all use, with strict control over who can see what.
Architecture
A deliberately conventional shape, chosen for maintainability:
- Web application and API serving the clinic staff interface and the mobile apps.
- Background worker for scheduled and long-running jobs such as reminders, faxes and billing runs.
- Mobile apps for iOS and Android sharing one codebase.
- Managed relational database shared by those components, with every record scoped to a clinic.
- Containers on Google Cloud, built by an automated pipeline and deployed deliberately by hand.
Security and data handling
Role-based access, per-clinic data isolation, audit trails, soft deletes so records can be recovered, and secrets kept out of source control. Built for clinics that handle protected health information.
